Choosing A Language School – 4 Tips For Success

Category: Language Training | 2019-01-31

Choosing the right language school for your company is a highly personal choice. Choosing a language school depends just as much on your company and its style as it does on the style of the language school.

If you’ve been looking for a language school for a long time, but just haven’t found the right fit yet, we have some tips for you.

What to Look For When Choosing a Language School

Look for a school that fits

Think about it this way: you’re looking to hire someone to come into your company for at least an hour a week to teach your employees and interact with them. You’re going to want a school whose teachers fit in with your company culture. If your company is more informal, you’re not going to want a school whose teachers are really formal, and vice versa.

The price is right

Prices for language courses vary from school to school, so make sure to take a look at the price of lessons and see if it fits into your company’s budget. However, there’s a very important fact to be aware of: cheaper doesn’t necessarily mean more cost effective.

If a school is offering prices that seem too good to be true, they probably are. While you can always find great deals on lessons, going too low may mean that the school doesn’t check its teachers properly, or that the school just isn’t as good as some others. This could actually cost your business more in the long run, especially if you have to hire another school to re-teach your employees.

The key here is to find a school that fits your budget, but isn’t too cheap.

Yelp for Help

Reviews are always an excellent way to find out if the language school you’re considering is the perfect one to bring on board. Reviews help to figure out what other people are thinking about the school you’re searching for. Use Google reviews and Yelp to your advantage, and see what others have to say to help you make your decision.

Compromise is key

When you’re on the hunt for a language school, compromise is key. What I mean by that, is that you need to look for a school that is flexible on time. You want a school that can accommodate your business’ needs.

Do you have staff meetings at 10 am every Monday? Then you don’t want a school that can only meet at 10 am on Mondays. Make sure to find out from the school when their teachers are available to meet with you and your employees. Knowing when the teacher can meet your students is one of the most important aspects of getting language classes off the ground!
